Bonnie has worked at (MCAF) since Aug 1997. The clients she has served have included International Students and their spouses, Skilled Workers, PNP’s, Entrepreneurs, Temporary Foreign Workers and Refugees.  Her clients have come from every corner of the world, work in diverse professions and are employed throughout the city, province and country.  Special projects that Bonnie has worked on include: Conference Coordinator for the “Working Forward” Provincial Conference on Foreign Qualification Recognition, and most recently, Coordinator of the (600+) volunteers that assisted the MCAF in receiving and settling the 150+ Syrian Families that arrived in Fredericton.  Her deep seeded passion has always been for fairness.  And Bonnie believes that all newcomers should have the right to work and be respected for their professional education and work experience.

This session will provide attendees with an introduction to the concept of developing one’s cultural competencies.  Throughout the presentation you will discover insights about working with and hiring individuals within our culturally diverse community, and address challenges you may be experiencing at work with regards to culture, religion, immigration and ethnic diversity.
