Originally coined by Harvard researcher Dr. Amy Edmondson in the late 90’s, Psychological Safety is the belief that one will not be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns or mistakes. At the team level, it refers to team members believing that they can take risks and express themselves without fear of shaming or other repercussions from the rest of the group. Research has shown conclusively that psychologically safe teams are more innovative, productive and successful. Let’s be real: HR isn’t swamped because there’s too much work. It’s swamped because we’re still doing way too much of it manually. If you're still screening resumes with spreadsheets, formatting job postings like it’s 2006, or writing policies from scratch — that’s not “busy,” that’s avoidable.
In this session, we’re cutting through the hype and the fears. We’ll talk about what parts of HR are already being automated (yep, right now), what’s safe (for now), and what’s on the chopping block over the next 2–3 years. Researchers predict that by 2030, 70% of all companies will have deployed AI and it could impact as many as 60% of all jobs.
